Privacy Notice

1. Who we are

BuiltRight is operated by Public Insurance Claims Specialists LLC. For the personal data described here we act as the data controller — we decide why and how it is processed. Contact us at support@builtright.space.

Where you upload information about your own customers into BuiltRight (for example a homeowner's name and address on a job), you are the controller of that data and we act as your processor, handling it only to provide the service to you.

2. What we collect and why

• Account data (name, email, password credentials, company name, phone) — to create and secure your account, authenticate you and provide support. Legal basis: performance of our contract with you.
• Company and job data (business details, client and vendor contacts, job addresses, notes, emails logged in the CRM) — to operate the CRM features you use. Legal basis: performance of our contract.
• Uploaded content (photos, video, audio narration, plans, documents) — to generate estimates, measurements, sketches and drawings; audio is transcribed for scope capture. Legal basis: performance of our contract.
• Usage and device data (pages used, feature events, IP address, browser/device identifiers, logs) — for security, fraud prevention, troubleshooting and improving the product. Legal basis: our legitimate interests.
• Support messages — to answer your questions. Legal basis: legitimate interests / contract.
• Marketing preferences — only if you opt in. Legal basis: consent, withdrawable at any time.

Payment card details are never collected or stored by us; they are handled by Paddle at checkout.

3. Who we share it with

• Service providers/subprocessors: cloud hosting and database, file storage, email delivery, AI model providers used to generate estimates and drawings, mapping/geocoding, and analytics — all bound to process data only on our instructions.
• Paddle.com, our Merchant of Record, for the sale of the product, subscription management, payments, tax compliance and invoicing.
• Parties you choose to share with inside the product — your team members, clients, adjusters, vendors and subcontractors who receive quotes, invoices or portal access.
• Professional advisers (legal, accounting) where necessary.
• Authorities or others where required by law, or to protect our rights or the safety of users.

We do not sell personal data.

4. Retention

We keep account and job data for as long as your account is active, and for up to 12 months after closure so you can reactivate or export it, unless a longer period is required for legal, tax or dispute purposes. After that it is deleted or anonymised. You can ask us to delete your data sooner.

5. Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, delete, port, or restrict processing of your personal data, to object to processing based on legitimate interests, to withdraw consent, and to be free from discrimination for exercising these rights. US residents (including under state privacy laws) and UK/EEA residents can exercise these rights by emailing support@builtright.space; we respond within 30 days (one month for GDPR requests). UK/EEA users also have the right to complain to their supervisory authority.

6. International transfers

We are based in the United States and our providers may process data there. Where data is transferred out of the UK/EEA we rely on appropriate safeguards such as the Standard Contractual Clauses or an adequacy decision.

7. Security

We use appropriate technical and organisational measures — encryption in transit, encrypted storage, row-level access controls scoped to your account, signed time-limited links for files, and least-privilege access for our staff. No system is perfectly secure, so please use a strong, unique password.

8. Cookies

We use strictly necessary cookies and similar local storage to keep you signed in and to secure the service, plus limited analytics to understand product usage. We do not use advertising cookies. You can clear or block cookies in your browser, but sign-in will not work without the essential ones.

9. Children

BuiltRight is a business tool and is not directed at children under 16.

10. Changes

We may update this notice; the date at the top will change and material updates will be highlighted in the app. See also our Terms & Conditions and Refund Policy.
